LONDON, July 24, 2009 — The sold-out crowd of 25,196 participants at the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge can feel a tangible connection with future British Olympic squads.
A key part of the July 8-9 races in Battersea Park was a new fundraising initiative through Charities Trust designed to benefit companies, the community, and charities. The initiative provided special incentives for participants to donate to SportsAid, the charity that helps develop future generations of British Olympic athletes.
Funds that participants raised for SportsAid will be directed to the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) programme. TASS was founded to support and fast-track young British sporting talent with an objective of developing the potential medal winners of the future.
Anyone who donated a minimum of £50 to SportsAid was entered into a draw for a pair of prize packages. The winners of the draw were:
- Grand Prize: Round-trip travel to New York courtesy of JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series co-sponsor American Airlines with two nights accommodation courtesy of New York Marriott East Side. Winner: Martin Arscott of J.P. Morgan
- Second Prize: A signed and framed 2008-09 Chelsea jersey and hydration pack, courtesy of Gatorade, the official sports drink of Chelsea FC. Winner: Chip Steppacher of J.P. Morgan
