Syracuse opens registration for 2008
JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge
Registration
SYRACUSE, March 17, 2008 – Registration for Syracuse 's annual corporate fitness celebration on the shores of Lake Onondaga has opened.
The 2008 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge at Syracuse is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24 over a scenic 3.5 mile out-and-back course beginning and ending at Onondaga Lake Park.
The 26th running of this event, moved last year to a June date from its traditional August spot to take advantage of the increased probability of cooler weather, attracted 6,197 participants from 268 companies in 2007. That marked the 10th straight year the popular Syracuse race has bettered 6,000 participants and there is a strong possibility that this June's event will top the previous Syracuse record of 6,705 participants, set in 2005.
Registration for 2008 is now open and all interested companies are urged to begin their planning now. Race night offers the ideal opportunity for corporate entertainment and team building, and details about how you can have a reserved spot for your team gathering are available on the Syracuse Hospitality Page.
All entrants in 2008 and JPMorgan Chase & Co. will be Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow, with the Corporate Challenge executing best practices to reduce the event's impact on the environment. For example, registration for the event will be exclusively online, saving paper. Most of the materials used by race organizers on-site will be recyclable and shuttle transportation to Onondaga Lake Park will also be offered.
Each participant will also be giving back to the community as the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation for each entry to a not-for-profit organization. Information on this beneficiary will be announced prior to race night.
In addition to the elements of camaraderie and philanthropy, there is also strong competition at the front of the pack and 15 companies will earn an invitation to the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship in New York, to be held on October 4. The top five men's, women's and mixed teams will be invited. Syracuse has traditionally been well represented at the Series Championships and 2007 was no exception. Syracuse-area teams placed in the top 15 in the Male (General Electric, 14th), Female (Lockheed Martin, 13th), and Mixed (National Grid, 14th) categories.
The minimum size for a company team is four, and there is no maximum. If you need support in your registration process, please call (315) 446-6285 or email syracuse@jpmorganchasecc.com.
