Your 3.5 miles may go farther
than you think; Camp benefits

SAN FRANCISCO, May 19, 2009 — The beneficiary of the 2009 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in San Francisco is the YMCA of San Francisco Kids to Camp Program.

Located at YMCA Camp Jones Gulch on 930 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the program uses the old-growth redwood forest and bio-diverse environment as classrooms to educate and inspire youth about the natural environment. The camp provides Bay Area kids — the world's future stewards — with a safe place to escape life's daily challenges. Each day at camp provides opportunities to hike, explore, grow, learn and connect with the outside world while gaining an appreciation for the planet's natural resources.

Thanks to your participation in Corporate Challenge, low-income kids, regardless of their ability to pay, will have the opportunity to experience camp, make friendships that last a lifetime, build confidence and character, and let their imaginations soar in a wholesome natural environment.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 19, 2009 — The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge® in San Francisco has hit its stride, with participation spiking up 250 percent since 2003. Now is the time for you and your company to make plans to be a part of the 2009 event, as online registration for the 25th running of the Corporate Challenge has opened.

The 3.5-mile team road race will be held on Wednesday, September 16 with a 6:45 p.m. race start at beautiful Crissy Field on The Presidio. All the information and forms needed to register are available here.

The Corporate Challenge is enjoying a renaissance in the Bay Area, with the 2008 event drawing a site-record 5,693 runners and walkers from 259 companies. It was the largest race crowd in the Bay Area since 1990, and continued the event's spectacular growth.

It's easy to see why. With the Golden Gate Bridge and the twinkling lights of downtown San Francisco serving as a backdrop, this is one of the most beautiful sites in the Corporate Challenge Series. The setting, competition and fabulous post-race party (at the nearby Sports Basement facility) has helped draw some of the finest companies in Northern California, including Google, the Gap, Lucasfilm, Genentech, Williams Sonoma, and VMware.

In fact, the post-race dinner buffet and awards ceremony at The Sports Basement has proved to be such a big draw that now is the time to ensure your company has a spot for a unique night of competition and camaraderie (details in registration).

The entry fee for the 2009 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in San Francisco is $32 per entrant. All entries must be part of a corporate team, with each team needing to register a minimum of four employees. There is no limit to the number of employees that can be on a company team.  Awards will be given to the fastest five men's, women's and mixed teams, the company with the largest number of participants, and the three most creative t-shirt designs.  If you require assistance registering your company or have any questions please email SanFrancisco@jpmorganchasecc.com or call (866) 758-2845.

In addition to benefitting the YMCA of San Francisco Kids to Camp Progaram (see inset story), the San Francisco event will be part of the Corporate Challenge's worldwide “Teaming Up For a Greener Tomorrow” campaign. As it did in 2008, the effort uses best environmental practices in organizing and staging races to make a positive impact. Thanks in part to your collective tactics last year — registering online, recycling waste and utilizing environmentally-friendly vendors for race night supplies — the Corporate Challenge was named by Runner's World as one the Top 10 Green Road Races of 2008.

So, ensure your spot in the 2009 Corporate Challenge in San Francisco by registering online now.
