SYDNEY, August 7, 2008 – After smashing records for participation in 2007, the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Sydney is looking for even bigger things this November.

Now is the time for your company to make plans to be a part of this annual celebration of corporate fitness and team camaraderie, scheduled for Wednesday, 12 November at 6:30 p.m. in Centennial Park. Online registration is now open.

In 2007, the event attracted 7,678 entrants from 344 companies, easily besting the previous record for participation – 6,921 in 2005. The event debuted Down Under in November 2000, with 2,180 participants. It has grown steadily since.

Now, the 3.5-mile run/walk and post-race party is a spring tradition for members of Australia 's business community.

"We are very excited about presenting the 2008 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge," said Rob Priestley, Senior Country Officer, JPMorgan Australia and New Zealand. "It is a truly unique event for the Sydney business community, which continues to foster teamwork and healthy activity. This year, the event will be even greener, bigger and better."

Participants this year will be joining the Series' Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow initiative that has produced impressive results.

Through 10 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge events in 2008, the Series' focus on best green practices had saved more than six tons of paper (through online registration and paper-free marketing practices), recycled on-site more than 10 tons of plastic and glass, and saved more than 5,000 gallons of crude oil (through alternate modes of transportation by participants). That's more than 900 million BTUs, or enough energy to light a home for nearly 10 years.*

Each participant will also be giving back to the community as the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation for each entry to a not-for-profit organisation. Information on this local beneficiary will be announced prior to race night.

In addition to the elements of camaraderie and philanthropy, there is also strong competition at the front of the pack and companies will be racing for an invitation to the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship in New York, to be held in October of 2009. The top men's, women's and mixed teams will be invited.

Sydney has traditionally fielded very competitive teams and runners. In 2007, Ben St. Lawrence recorded a blistering time of 16:38 to win the individual male title, and UBS (Male), ING (Female) and Calvary Health Care (Mixed) won the team titles.

The entry fee for the 2008 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Sydney is $40 per person. The minimum size for a company team is four, and there is no maximum. If you need support in your registration process, please call 02 9431 9100 or email sydney@jpmorganchasecc.com.
