Football United returns as beneficiary
of November's Corporate Challenge
SYDNEY, Sept. 16, 2010 - Football United will once again be the beneficiary of November's J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge® in Sydney.
The not-for-profit organization, which uses football for social development, also was the beneficiary of last year's event that attracted 6,848 entrants from 326 companies to the 5.6-kilometer team race in Centennial Park. Registration remains open for this year's event, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10.
Earlier this year, Football United participated in the FIFA Football for Hope tournament in South Africa, which brought together 32 teams of young people from disadvantaged communities around the world for a festival of education, culture and football.
Football United works to improve the skills of people in diverse and disadvantaged areas that include high proportions of refugee, migrant and indigenous children, youths and families. It currently works with refugee communities in the Blacktown and Liverpool areas, and operates a dedicated school's program in Granville in Sydney.
Last year's Corporate Challenge contribution helped support the Football United program at Granville South High School. Now into its second year, the benchmark program demonstrates how youth empowerment can make a significant impact on the behaviour of students, reducing cross cultural tensions while improving the reputation of a severely disadvantaged school in the local community.

The JPMorgan Chase Foundation makes a donation to not-for-profit organisations at each of the 12 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series events, donating more than $600,000USD in 2010.
