SYDNEY, October 9, 2009 — The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Sydney presents the opportunity for a confidence-building 5.6-kilometer run/walk. It also is the ideal venue for building team spirit and camaraderie through a great post-race party.
The Sydney event is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 November, at 6:30 p.m. And now is the time to enter this annual celebration of teamwork and camaraderie and reserve your company's spot in the Corporate Hospitality Village. “What a wonderful atmosphere,” Chris Stevens, Chief Operating Officer for REST Superannuation Trust, said after completing his first Corporate Challenge in Centennial Park last November. “It's been great socializing.”
The social nature of the race lingers well into the night and long after champions are crowned in what annually has been one of the fastest finishes in the 12-city Series. In 2008, Stephen Thurston of Perpetual and KPMG's Andrea Ilakovac raced to individual titles in impressive times of 16:49 and 20:09, respectively. Ilakovac's victory helped KPMG earn the Mixed team title, while Team Macquarie captured both the Male and Female team wins.
KPMG and Macquarie qualified their teams for the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship, to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on March 4, 2010. Corporate teams in Sydney this November are competing for a spot in the 2011 Championship, site and date to be determined.
This year's race will benefit !Football United!, the football program at Granville South High School, among other initiatives. The JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation for each entry to !Football United!
