Be fast! Online registration opens for
2011 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

JOHANNESBURG, November 22, 2010 – It is now time to begin planning and registering your team for Johannesburg’s most popular social/sporting event – the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge at the Wanderers Club.

Online registration has opened for the eighth annual 5.6-km (3.5 mile) road race and you will want to begin your arrangements now to insure your company has a spot on the starting line.  This event has reached its full capacity of entries the past six years and promises to do so again in 2011.

This year’s celebration of corporate fitness, camaraderie and community will be held on Thursday, 3 March 2011 with an 18.30 race start at The Wanderers Club. 

The entry fee for the 2011 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Johannesburg is R95 per entrant.  All entries must be part of a corporate team with a minimum of four employees. There is no limit to the number of employees that can be on a company team, but registration will be closed once we reach our runner limit.

Last year, the race attracted its largest crowd ever, a capacity gathering of 12,862 racers, joggers and walkers from 405 companies. Since its debut in 2004, the Corporate Challenge has increased in entries by 109-percent and has become the “must-attend” event of the year for all Gauteng companies, large and small.

Among the largest participating companies at the 2010 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge were KPMG (347 entrants), Liberty (278), Absa Capital (272), AngloGold Ashanti (262), Ernst & Young (261), Stanlib (243), Deloitte (239) and Alexander Forbes (210).  But your company does not need to employ thousands of employees to be eligible.  Any company can form a team as long as you enter a minimum of four employees who meet our standard eligibility requirements.

As always, the event will feature a not-to-be-missed post-race concert, as well as support for a Johannesburg-area not-for-profit organization.  We’ll have more detailed information on the beneficiary on this website in the coming weeks.
