Event surging in popularity
SINGAPORE, 10 January 2012 — Online registration for the 9th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge® in Singapore is now available. The 5.6km team road race will be held on Thursday, 19 April with a 6.00 p.m. race start on the Esplanade Bridge and a festive post-race party in the F1 Pit Building area.
Corporate Challenge organizers would like to thank you for your enthusiastic support of our race through the years. We debuted with 6,766 participants in 2004, and last year's crowd increased substantially to an all-time Singapore record 13,226 entrants from 401 companies.
Please note that this event has reached its course capacity of runners in seven of its first eight years. We anticipate reaching full capacity again this year and registration will close when that capacity is reached, and no later than Friday, 30 March. Please do not delay in beginning your company registration to insure you and your colleagues have a spot on the starting line.
The entry fee for the 2012 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Singapore is SGD60 per entrant and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of the race to worthy not-for-profit organizations that will be announced prior to event night.
All entries must be part of a corporate team, with each team needing to register a minimum of four employees. There is no limit to the number of employees that can be on a company team. Awards will be given to the three fastest men's, women's and mixed teams. The first place teams in those categories will also receive an invitation to the 2013 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Championship, date and location to be determined.
With the city's skyline behind them, participants prepare for the start of the 2011 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Singapore.
The five largest companies in terms of total runners in 2011 were Starhub (494 entries); Deloitte (469); PricewaterhouseCoopers (469); BNP Paribas (272); and Credit Suisse (261). In terms of skill level, Barclay's (first-place men's team) and Singapore Prisons Service (first-place in both women's and mixed divisions) proved to be best. The two companies qualified for the 2012 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Championship, to be held this coming May 24 in Chicago.
