Chicago Corporate Challenge opens entries

Online registration for the 30th annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge® in Chicago is now available. The 3.5-mile team road race will be held on Thursday, May 26 with a 7:10 p.m. race start at Grant Park.  The date is the Thursday before Memorial Day and provides the perfect opportunity for you and your colleagues to commemorate the unofficial opening of summer.

The 2010 Corporate Challenge featured a superb crowd of 19,886 participants from 553 companies – a 17-percent increase in attendance from 2009.  The five largest participating companies were Blue Cross/Blue Shield (603 entrants), CDW (599), Caterpillar (305), Sears (299) and Citadel Investment Group (294).  A significant number of small businesses from throughout Chicagoland joined those behemoths on the starting line.  All you need is four full-time employees to form a Corporate Challenge team, and there is no maximum to the number of colleagues who can join you on your team.

The entry fee for the 2011 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Chicago is $40 per entrant and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of the race to a worthy not-for-profit organization that will be announced prior to event night.

The Corporate Challenge debuted in Chicago in 1982, and was generally held in the month of August through 2002.  It moved to May in 2003 and the start of Memorial Day weekend in 2004.  Here is a look at the attendance figures through the years:

Awards will be given to the five fastest men's, women's and mixed teams.  The first place teams in those categories will also receive an invitation to the 2012 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship, date and location to be determined.  Winning Chicago teams from 2010 who qualified for our Championship event in Singapore were Molex (men’s team), JPMorgan Chase (women), and Caterpillar (mixed).
