for Corporate Challenge at Grant Park
CHICAGO, May 16, 2008 — The 27th annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Chicago is in the record books.
A total of 23,621 entrants from 633 companies have registered for the 3.5-mile celebration of corporate fitness and camaraderie. The starting gun goes off at 7:10 p.m. this Thursday, May 22, at Grant Park.
The field tops last year's record gathering of 22,766 runners and walkers from 578 Chicagoland businesses. Since the Corporate Challenge moved to the Thursday of Memorial Day weekend in 2005, the event has grown 62-percent, from 14,544 to the current number.
The large crowd is good news for the Bears Care Foundation, which will receive a donation for each entrant from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. Staley Da Bear and other representatives from the Bears will be on hand to thank participants and add to the festive atmosphere.
Continuing on the Chicago Bears theme, Comcast SportsNet on-air personalities Pat Boyle and Mark Schanowski will be on hand to provide “play-by-play” coverage from the start and finish stages. Among the company names they will be calling out are the 10 largest participating companies — JPMorgan Chase (1,699 entrants), Blue Cross Blue Shield (662), CDW (615), Deloitte & Touche (387), Caterpillar (282), Motorola (246), Northrop Grumman (225), Orbitz (221), DePaul University (216), and Northern Trust (215).
The 23,621 entrants and JPMorgan Chase & Co. are Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow. Paper savings through exclusive online registration conserved enough energy to light Soldier Field for seven Bears' home games in the 2008 season.*
