Graycor exemplifies memorable time
on Chicago's Memorial Day weekend
CHICAGO, May 24, 2009 — The Chicago JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge annually serves as an unofficial kick-off for summer and an early start on the Memorial Day weekend. Exemplifying that attitude was the team from Graycor, a leading provider of construction, maintenance and facilities services throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Members of the 28-strong team posed for a pre-race photo (top), then enjoyed the rest of the pre-race festivities at their tent (immediately below). Among those enjoying the night was Matthew Gray (16579) and Karen Waszak (16594), sharing some smiles with three of her teammates.
Once the race began, Adam Fauth (16575) showed the Graycor colors and the fun of a 28-year-old event.
After the race, Company Captain John Shannon (16593 in bottom photo) joined with a colleague in firing up the grill to complete the celebration. Graycor employees joined thousands of participants from 525 Chicago companies in enjoying a too rare chance for out-of-the-office camaraderie at beautiful Grant Park.
The Corporate Challenge in Chicago also had a serious side as participants helped the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the race beneficiary. The 33rd season of the world's largest corporate running series continues Thursday in Rochester.
