33rd annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in New York.

Registration opens for 33rd annual
Corporate Challenge in Central Park
Registration

NEW YORK, March 10, 2009 — It is one of the enduring traditions that make spring special in Central Park.

The 33rd running of the highly popular J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge® will be held on Wednesday, June 10, and Thursday, June 11, with a starting time of 7 p.m. each night. All the details and forms you need to register your company for the 3.5-mile team event are available online here.

This event historically reaches its full capacity of 15,000 participants each night - a far cry from the 200 entrants who gathered for the first Corporate Challenge in Central Park in 1977.

In recent years, the face of the Central Park races also has been changed by expanded hospitality areas. Registration for 2009 corporate hospitality opened in February and is ongoing. Hospitality has become increasingly popular in recent years in New York because it provides many value-added benefits to your company's participation, including great opportunities for employees to share in post-race camaraderie.

As in 2008, the New York events will be part of the Corporate Challenge's worldwide “Teaming Up For a Greener Tomorrow” campaign. The effort uses best environmental practices in organizing and staging races to make a positive impact. Thanks in part to your collective tactics last June — registering online, recycling waste and utilizing environmentally-friendly vendors for race night supplies — the Corporate Challenge was named by Runner's World as one the Top 10 Green Road Races of 2008.

And, the environmental theme is perhaps more fitting in New York than anywhere because the venue is one of the world's great urban parks, and the park is also the beneficiary of the race. For each entry, the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation to the Central Park Conservancy, which helps maintain Central Park.

The entry fee for the 2009 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in New York is $40 per entrant. All entries must be part of a corporate team, with each team needing to register a minimum of four employees. Awards will be given to the fastest five men's, women's and mixed teams and the three most creative t-shirt designs.  If you require assistance registering your company or have any questions please call (917) 463-3954 or email newyork@jpmorganchasecc.com.

Make sure you and your company are a part of a New York tradition this June by registering online now for the 2009 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Central Park.
