crowd
Be a part of the fun at the 32nd annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Buffalo on June 7.

BUFFALO, March 6, 2012 — You can hear the sound of the starting horn and the smell of charcoal in the air.

It's time to register for the 32nd annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Buffalo. Western New York's largest and most unique road race/post-race party will be held this year on Thursday, June 7, with the traditional 6:45 p.m. start at Delaware Park.

This race has been a must-attend for generations. It began in 1981, hit 5,000 participants by 1990, and has attracted an average of 12,000 runners and walkers each of the last 15 years. The 2011 race had a stellar gathering of 11,578 entrants from 375 companies. Approximately 300 of those businesses used the Corporate Challenge as their company outing, pitching tents in Delaware Park and enjoying a celebratory post-race meal past sundown.

Moog (men's team), Amherst Central Schools (women) and Newfane Central School District (mixed) were the fastest teams over the 3.5-mile course. The Buffalo Public Schools won the Largest Participation Award with 476 total entries.

The entry fee for the 2012 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Buffalo is $32 per entrant and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of all participants to a worthy not-for-profit organization that will be announced prior to event night.

There are two new initiatives for 2012:

  • We're pleased to introduce chip-timing to the Buffalo race. Race numbers will contain a timing chip, and your team’s times will be recorded based on when runners cross the start and finish lines. There is no need to collect and enter finish times after the race, although you will need to go online to confirm your scoring teams.
  • As part of our Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow® initiative, all participants will receive a Virtual Goody Bag. Click here to learn about how your company can submit an offer for inclusion.

Your company can also be a winner off the course by participating in the annual T-shirt Contest. Start planning your company's race night apparel and enter it for a chance to be included in the popular vote conducted via our Buffalo Facebook page, www.facebook.com/BuffaloCorporateChallenge.

If you require assistance registering your company or have any questions please email buffalo@jpmorganchasecc.com or call (716) 332-3504.
