Boston Children’s Hospital is the primary pediatric teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, dedicated to training the top pediatric clinicians and scientists of tomorrow.
The 36th running of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Boston will serve as a benefit and awareness builder for The Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Scheduled for Thursday, June 20 with a 7:15 p.m. race start, the 3.5-mile Corporate Challenge will feature a total crowd of approximately 9,000 runners from nearly 400 companies. J.P. Morgan will donate to The Every Child Fund in celebration of the entrants, helping countless children and families.
This will mark the third consecutive year that the largest road race held entirely within Boston’s city limits will partner with Boston Children’s Hospital, where each year more than 600,000 kids and their parents go for hope, healing and the chance for a healthy future.
The J.P. Morgan donation to The Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital propels research that finds new treatments for children who are very sick. Corporate Challenge participants will help provide compassionate care to every family who comes through Boston Children’s doors, easing their burden and covering services insurance won’t pay for.
“We believe every child deserves the chance for a healthy future,” said Michael Bornhorst, Associate Vice President, Corporate Development and Special Events for Boston Children’s Hospital. “We focus on the areas of greatest need in our community: behavioral health, asthma, obesity and child development, as well as social determinants of health, like homelessness and violence.”
Boston Children’s has been named the number one children's hospital for care in the country for five years in a row and is the largest research center for pediatric health. It is the primary pediatric teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, dedicated to training the top pediatric clinicians and scientists of tomorrow, not only as leaders in their respective fields, but also as practitioners of compassionate child- and family- centered care.
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge has been held each summer in Boston since 1984, with the same starting line on Charles Street between the Boston Common and Public Garden. It has reached a full capacity of entrants since 1995 with a 25th consecutive sell-out expected on June 20.
