SYRACUSE, March 20, 2012 — It is one of the great celebrations of doing business in Central New York, and it has been happening for 30 years.
The 30th running of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge® in Syracuse will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at Onondaga Lake Park. Registration is open now for the 3.5-mile run/walk with a one-of-a-kind post-race party. The competition begins at 6:25 p.m. and the camaraderie will last long past sunset.
The Corporate Challenge is truly a gathering spot for all of the region's top businesses. It has featured more than 6,000 participants each year since 1998 and last June's attendance of 6,994 entrants from 261 companies was the largest crowd since 2001. It is hardly a come, run and leave event as hundreds of companies pitch hospitality tents at Onondaga Lake Park and make this their official summer kick-off party.
General Electric (men's team), Lockheed Martin (women) and Fayetteville-Manlius Schools (mixed) were the fastest teams over the 3.5-mile course and earned an invitation to the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Championship in Chicago. Syracuse University, which has had representation in every Corporate Challenge ever run here, earned the Largest Participation Award with 378 total entries.
The entry fee for the 2012 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Syracuse is $32 per entrant and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of all participants to a worthy not-for-profit organization that will be announced prior to event night.
There are two new initiatives for 2012:
- We're pleased to introduce chip-timing to the Syracuse race. Race numbers will contain a timing chip, and your team's times will be recorded based on when runners cross the start and finish lines. There is no need to collect and enter finish times after the race, although you will need to go online to confirm your scoring teams.
- As part of our Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow® initiative, all participants will receive a Virtual Goody Bag. Click here to learn about how your company can submit an offer for inclusion.
Your company can also be a winner off the course by participating in the annual T-shirt Contest. Start planning your company's race night apparel and enter it for a chance to be included in the popular vote conducted via our Syracuse Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SyracuseCorporateChallenge.
If you require assistance registering your company or have any questions please email email@example.com or call (315) 446-6285.
