Registration opens for 19th annual
Corporate Challenge at RIT on May 28
ROCHESTER, February 25, 2009 — When the running gods blessed the 2008 Chase Corporate Challenge® in Rochester with ideal conditions last May, a record 11,135 participants came out to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to walk, run and party with their colleagues.
“This is Rochester 's biggest office party of the year,” Bob Ryan, President of Middle Market Banking for Chase, said that night. “It's hard to comprehend sometimes how this event has grown.”
The time to make sure you and your co-workers are a part of the 2009 edition of the Corporate Challenge this May has arrived. Online registration for the 19th annual Chase Corporate Challenge® in Rochester is now available. The 3.5-mile team road race will be held on Thursday, May 28, with a 7 p.m. race start at RIT.
Last year's record crowd came from 439 companies and made Rochester the largest “per capita participation” event in the six-country Corporate Challenge Series. One of every 19.3 residents in the Rochester metropolitan area takes part in this annual celebration of corporate fitness and camaraderie.
The entry fee for the 2009 Chase Corporate Challenge in Rochester is $30 per entrant. All entries must be part of a corporate team, with each team needing to register a minimum of four employees. There is no limit to the number of employees that can be on a company team. Awards will be given to the fastest five men's, women's and mixed teams and the three most creative t-shirt designs. If you require assistance registering your company or have any questions please email Rochester@jpmorganchasecc.com or call (585) 367-9307.
As in 2008, the race will be “Teaming Up For a Greener Tomorrow” by utilizing best environmental practices. Thanks in part to your responsible choices last May — registering online, recycling waste and taking alternative transportation to race site — the Corporate Challenge was named by Runner's World as one the Top 10 Green Road Races of 2008. The JPMorgan Chase Foundation will also make a donation for each entry to a worthy not-for-profit organization that will be announced prior to event night.
So, for now, please notify your colleagues that registration is open, begin assembling your team and make plans for your post-race party on the beautiful RIT campus. It figures to be another great time for Rochester 's workers.
