Race to be Chip-Timed for first time
ROCHESTER, March 1, 2012 — Mark your schedules, Rochester. The 22nd annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge® is back on a familiar date.
Participants wave during the start of the 2011 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Rochester. Enter now to be a part of the 2012 event on May 31.
Registration is now open for this year's 3.5-mile race and post-event party at the Rochester Institute of Technology. After scheduling conflicts created a one-year move to a Tuesday, the 2012 race is set for Thursday, May 31, the event's traditional post-Memorial Day spot.
Rochester's celebration of corporate camaraderie and teamwork attracted 8,952 runners and walkers from 393 companies in 2011. The fastest outfits were Corning (men's team), Greece Central School District (women's team) and RIT (mixed). Jeffrey Beck of Medved Running & Walking Outfitters and Jessica Snyder from the University of Rochester were the first-place winners in the men's and women's category. Snyder was part of the largest team in the field, as 318 U of R employees lined up at the starting line.
The entry fee for the 2012 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Rochester is $32 per entrant and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of all participants to a worthy not-for-profit organization that will be announced prior to event night.
There are two new initiatives for 2012:
- We're pleased to introduce chip-timing to the Rochester race. Race numbers will contain a timing chip, and your team's times will be recorded based on when runners cross the start and finish lines. There is no need to collect and enter finish times after the race, although you will need to go online to confirm your scoring teams.
- As part of our Teaming Up For A Greener Tomorrow® initiative, all participants will receive a Virtual Goody Bag. Click here to learn about how your company can submit an offer for inclusion.
Your company can also be a winner off the course by participating in the annual T-shirt Contest. Start planning your company's race night apparel and enter it for a chance to be included in the popular vote conducted via our Rochester Facebook page, www.facebook.com/RochesterCorporateChallenge.
