Registration dates set
for Upstate NY events
ROCHESTER, March 17, 2016 — Upstate New York companies can accelerate their plans for the 2016 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge®. Registration for all three events will open later this month.
Companies can begin assembling their teams for the Rochester event on Thursday, March 24. Syracuse will open its registration process on Tuesday, March 29, and Buffalo will launch on Thursday, March 31.
All 2015 registered company captains will be notified via email with registration details. Please contact your local race registrar with any specific questions.
The 26th running of the Corporate Challenge in Rochester will be held on Thursday, May 24, with a 7 p.m. race start at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The 2015 event featured 10,371 runners and walkers from 421 companies, the five largest being Wegmans Food Markets (543 entrants), University of Rochester (481), Paychex (437), Tops Friendly Markets (196) and Rochester Regional Health System (171).
Buffalo, at 36 years running, is the second-oldest event in the Corporate Challenge Series, trailing only New York City (40th year). Delaware Park will host the 2016 race on Thursday, June 23, starting horn at 6:45 p.m. A fantastic crowd of 12,375 entrants from 396 companies was on hand in 2015, with Wegmans leading the way with 545 registered runners or walkers. Tops had 472, Ingram Micro 409, Kaleida Health 360 and HSBC 250.
Syracuse will celebrate its 34th annual running on Tuesday, June 7, with the traditional 6:25 p.m. starting time at Onondaga Lake Park. A near-capacity crowd of 7,864 employees from 278 businesses took part last June, including stellar turnouts from Tops (436 entrants), Wegmans (412), Syracuse University (160), Crouse Hospital (148) and National Grid (143).
