New York City
47th year of J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series brings its 15 events back to familiar spots on the calendar
NEW YORK, January 24, 2023 – Mark your calendar! The 47th year of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is locked in and ready for companies to begin planning their participation.
The 2023 Series will feature 15 team road races at the familiar Corporate Challenge distance of 3.5-miles (5.6km) in eight countries on six continents. Also familiar will be the timeframe of the events, with all the long-established races being back in their normal months after 2022 adjustments necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Johannesburg will officially launch the 2023 Series on Thursday, March 30, and that will begin a 9-month journey that will cover over 30,000 air miles and continue a tradition of workplace fitness that began in 1977. In all, the 2023 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge will feature eight events in the United States, and one each in Argentina, Australia, China, England, Germany, Singapore and South Africa.
JPMorgan Chase owns and operates the Corporate Challenge and has presented the event annually since the 70’s – continuously adapting to keep the event safe and fun.
The most prominent example of the Corporate Challenge’s resiliency has come in recent years. After a full slate of races in 2019, the Series sensibly went to a Virtual format in 2020-21 as the world endured COVID-19.
The Corporate Challenge then played its role in helping workplaces return to normal in 2022, hosting events in 14 cities, with a total attendance of 111,269 entrants from 3,976 companies – an average of 7,948 runners and walkers from 283 businesses per event.
The 2023 Series schedule will look far more familiar to long-time participants. Here’s a full look, with dates and registration fees:

The anticipation is that the Corporate Challenge will begin to take several steps back toward its full potential for entries. The Series drew 251,299 entrants from 7,581 companies in 2019.
Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth and Buenos Aires will look to build upon the positive start each enjoyed in their debut 2022 races. Every other event in the Series dates to at least 2011, with nine of the 15 having been conducted for 20 years or more. We expect the events to also enjoy continuity of site, with 2023 races returning to the location they were held in 2022 and, in many cases, for years and decades prior.
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is an all-inclusive event, with multinational companies registering employees at races around the world, to local manufacturing and entrepreneurial outfits registering with pride in one market. Each event also provides a marketing platform for a local not-for-profit organization, with JPMorgan Chase donating in celebration of all entrants.
All 2022 Team Captains will be notified by email when 2023 registration is available in each Corporate Challenge location. Prospective new Team Captains can be added to our email list by contacting the Customer Service Team in their location.
