FRANKFURT, March 15, 2013 — Companies interested in participating in the largest road race in the world — the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt — may begin their registration at www.jpmorgancc.de, the official German-language site of the event.
The 21st edition of Frankfurt’s spectacular celebration of doing business in Germany is scheduled for June 12, with the race course of 5.6 kilometers leading through the downtown core of the City of Frankfurt.
Eligible participants can be employees of corporations, public authorities and other organizations. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 15, and no exception can be made for late entries.
Frankfurt joined the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series in 1993 with a modest 527 entries. By 1999 it topped 20,000, and two years later surged past 40,000. Last June a staggering 68,586 participants from 2,761 companies were on the race course — and Corporate Challenge officials estimate that Frankfurt also has the lowest “no-show” rate of any event in the Series.
The 2012 Frankfurt event had the largest number of finishers of any road race of any distance in the world during that calendar year.
“We treat the fact that we have the trust of the public as a blessing,” Karl Altenburg, J.P. Morgan’s CEO for Germany/Austria, said. “The Corporate Challenge is a very important night for Germans and all of us at J.P. Morgan are exceptionally proud of that.”
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt also serves as a benefit for German Sports Aid and figure skating legend Katarina Witt was on hand in 2012 to commemorate the cause and celebrate with the participants.
